Windshield repair involves the use of alternating pressure and vacuum cycles to inject resin into damaged laminated glass. Because broken glass is inherently unstable, there is a very small possibility that the damaged area may develop additional cracks or that existing cracks may increase in length during the repair process.

This occurrence is extremely rare and happens in less than 0.1% of all windshield repairs performed.
